Electronic Intermittent Pilot Ignition (IPI) System eliminates the standing pilot to help you save energy and money while the Millivolt System has a standing pilot that is always lit and ready to ignite! That means no need for external power. Both units come with a manual on and off switch. If you are hit with a power outage the electronic ignition system has a battery backup and Millivolt system does not require external power so without power, you can still ignite your fireplace.
